Kerala Cricket Association was formed in the year 1951 and registered under the Travancore-Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Act 1955 (Act XII of 1955).
Kerala Cricket Association was formed in the year 1951 and is affiliated to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Kerala State Sports Authority (KSSA) in the State. There are fourteen district cricket association affiliated to it. As its inception in 1951 it was known as the Travancore-Cochin Cricket Association. Today it is one of the premier state sports associations in Kerala, affiliated to BCCI and Kerala State Sports Authority. Kerala State also has a large following for the game of cricket as in other parts of the country. Unfortunately for us, the vagaries of the weather have affected the development of the game in the state; the prolonged rainy season has been a matter of concern to the administrators and players, who are unable to keep in good nick because of the wet and uncertain climate. The development of infrastructure has been pivotal in the process. Indoor practice facilities have been few and far between, so practicing in the rains is out of the question. Kerala has always been in the forefront in its bid to foster sporting talent in India. Though Keralites in general favor football over any other sport, there were a few pioneers in cricket as well. The Mambally family of Clincher, contributed greatly to the enrichment of the game. PM Raghavan, who led the first Travancore-Cochin team in the Ranji Trophy in 1951, was a hard hitting batsman and an astute captain. KV Kellappan Thampuran was the live wire behind the great achievements of the Tripunithura Cricket club, formed in 1935. It was he who was the brain behind the limited over format. Col. Godavarma Raja of the Travancore royal family was responsible for putting Kerala on the sports and tourist map of India. The Kerala Cricket Association emerged from the Travancore-Cochin Cricket Association formed by him in 1950. He was the first from the state to become a vice-president of the BCCI. Read More >>

Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) would be resuming its cricket activities with the KCA Presidents Cup T20 tournament, planned to be held at the S D College Cricket ground, Alappuzha. Permission for conducting the same has been requested to the Government Authorities. Twenty First Century Media Pvt. Ltd (TCM), a premier Sports Marketing company will be associating with KCA as a commercial partner involving in the branding, digital promotion & broadcasting of matches LIVE. KCA has entered into a 3 year MoU with TCM for this purpose.
This inaugural T20 tournament will be an annual affair involving 6 teams selected by a committee constituted by KCA for this purpose. There shall be no franchisees or owners. Each team consists of 14 players and 2 support staff. There will also be 4 players “on-call” for each team, if replacements are required.
The competition shall be double headers (round robin) league followed by play-off – semi finals and final. Total of 33 matches will be played during the 18 day competition. All are day-games (two matches/day) with white ball, colored clothing and played as per BCCI playing conditions.
All players, support staff and concerned officials shall be brought under a bio-secure environment to minimize the risk of infection through external contact. Strict adherence to COVID-19 safety protocols will be ensured. For this purpose before the commencement of the tournament, KCA will conduct on-line workshops for players/officials, to educate them on the SoPs and on-ground precautionary measures.
The teams are a mixture of youth and experience. Prominent players like Sreeshanth, Sachin Baby, Basil Thampi, Rohan Prem, Midhun S, Asif K M and other senior state players will be featuring in different teams. The tournament is expected to produce keen contests and provide a platform for many aspiring cricketers to showcase their skills.
The Squads are :KCA Royals, KCA Tigers, KCA Tuskers, KCA Eagles, KCA Panthers and KCA Lions.
